You might have noticed all the accreditations that Susty Wear products have and wondered, what are they all about?
Throughout every stage of the supply chain, we insist on respect for people, animals and our planet. Susty Wear chooses to only work with a limited number of state-of-art factories in Bangladesh that empower and protect workers. Our French printing partner is recognised as both ethical and eco-friendly.
We carefully reviewed our partner processes and policies to make sure they are aligned with our values (premium, sustainable, ethical and vegan) before we started our collaboration.
All organisations that we work with adhere to one or more of the following accreditations/standards:
GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard- GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
Fair Wear/SA8000: A certification that shows good working conditions and fair wages in garment factories, making fashion fair for everyone (and not just the end customer).
Global Recycled Standard: This is a voluntary standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in final products.
PETA Approved: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The garment factory we work with is PETA-approved meaning none of our products contain ingredients derived from animals and testing on animals is not taking place in our production process.
OEKO-TEX: Assures the product was not made with harmful substances (e.g. chemicals, heavy metals) in the fabrics or inks.
OCS: Organic Content Standard - This certification verifies the presence and amount of organic materials in a final product. It also looks at the journey from raw materials and their source to the final products.
Why do we only work with organisations who have these accreditations?
- Because they are a great tool for reinforcing an organisation’s sustainability commitment and goals
- We find it important to be transparent about our production process and live by our values. We want to show our commitment to a more sustainable and ethical world.
- The accreditations are reviewed by independent organisations which means the organisations need to implement and adhere to the standards.
These are just some of the reasons we choose to work with accreditations for every step of our production process.
We will share more information about the accreditations we work with on our social media channels soon. At Susty Wear we don’t only use fashion to make a change in the world, we also want to educate people on conscious fashion and how we can create a sustainable and fairer world.
Let’s change the world one garment at a time!
